REPORTS: Executive Housekeeping Manager POSITION SUMMARY: The
Overnight Public Area Attendant Part Time is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of all hotel public spaces during overnight hours. This includes deep-cleaning tasks and ensuring public areas remain clean, safe, and welcoming for guests and staff throughout the night. This position plays a critical role in preparing the hotel for the following day and responding to any late-night guest needs or requests. Attendants are also responsible for reporting maintenance issues, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and upholding hotel cleanliness standards.
SCHEDULE: This is an
overnight position , typically scheduled between
10:00 PM and 6:30 AM , with potential variations based on business needs. Weekend and holiday availability required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Public Areas, Guest and Service Corridors, Housekeeping Office. Overnight work may involve:
- Low-light conditions or limited guest traffic
- Variable temperature conditions (including extreme heat or cold)
- Exposure to noise, odors, dust, cleaning chemicals, and bio-hazards
- Working independently with limited supervision
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Clean and disinfect all assigned public areas during overnight shift.
- Deep clean high-touch surfaces, floors, restrooms, elevators, and lobbies.
- Replenish towels, toilet paper, and amenities in public restrooms.
- Vacuum, dust, mop, and spot clean carpets, furniture, and fixtures.
- Clean glass, mirrors, and doors throughout public spaces.
- Follow safety and sanitation protocols, using the correct cleaning agents as required by OSHA and company policy.
- Maintain and restock cleaning cart with necessary supplies.
- Secure any assigned keys and ensure guest confidentiality at all times.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately.
- Handle occasional guest requests or concerns during the overnight period professionally.
- Turn in lost and found items to the appropriate department.
- Maintain a professional appearance and wear proper uniform and PPE.
- Adhere to hotel emergency procedures and participate in safety drills as needed.
- May be required to assist with additional tasks based on hotel needs.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Preferred: Basic English communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
- Dependable, punctual, and organized
- Able to maintain a professional demeanor while working in a quiet, guest-centered environment
- Previous housekeeping or overnight cleaning experience is helpful
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Standing and walking for extended periods (over 4 hours per shift)
- Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and twisting
- Lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds
- Fast-paced, physically demanding work
- Repetitive tasks and motion throughout shift
REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE): - Closed-toe, non-canvas, non-skid soled shoes
- Use of gloves and other PPE as required when handling chemicals or soiled materials
