Network Analyst TS/SCI Full Scope Poly
Dulles, VA
- The Network Analyst will be a member of the customer's NA team and will be responsible for their daily substantive work to the NA Team Lead and the Management Team.
- A candidate is likely to be a subject matter expert in only one or two areas:
- Telecom and data transport and switching engineering in support of traditional telcos
- Data center network engineering in support of intra- and inter-data center transport.
- Network architect or cellular network engineering for 3G, 4G, and/or SG to include core network (EPC and SG) and radio network engineering
Duties:
- Coordinate with other teams inside and outside the organization to provide timely and accurate network analysis regarding the logical and physical routes of key telecommunications networks
- Work with external organizations to evaluate the role and value of potential networks
- Display a mastery of relevant networks, principles and best practices
- Display subject matter expertise on geographic areas or complex projects
- Review network topologies, system architectures, router configurations, and telecommunications infrastructures.
Demonstrate the following:
- Ability to work with large volumes of data
- Strong analytical skills
- Maintain appropriate technical training to ensure skills methodologies are kept current with evolving technology
- Performs other duties as assigned at the direction of Project Management
- Travel: Minimal (usually for training)
Required Skills
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience specific to the skills identified in a position's Qualification Summary, plus the Education qualification.
- Bachelor's degree related to the specific skill from an accredited college or university, preferred. Relevant work experience related to the labor category may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Willingness to travel a minimal amount for trainings
- Strong understanding of network technologies, protocols, systems and equipment to include one or more of the following:
- SONET/SDH, OTN, MSAN, MSPP, MPLS/IP-MPLS, VoIP, IP Multimedia Services (IMS), DWDM, ROADM, Software Defined Networks (SDN) WAN and LAN, multi fabric networks, mesh networks, Session Border Controllers, fabric management, radio access network, front haul, back haul, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, SIP, SG/LT/LAN interworking, VoLTE, SRVCC, DRVCC, ETSI MANO, OSS/BSS
- Professional industry/commercial experience in telecommunications analyzing logical and physical routes within a designated area. Must have a strong understanding of network technologies, protocols, systems, and equipment with the ability to analyze that data. Experience includes the following:
- Telecom and data transport and switching engineering in support of traditional telcos
- Data center network engineering in support of intra- and inter-data center transport
- Network architect or cellular network engineering for 3G, 4G, and/or SG to include core network (EPC and SG) and radio network engineering.
- Working knowledge of Network Management Systems and/or Network Function Virtualization and SON.
- Working knowledge of one or more of the following:
- Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN)
- Data networks {IP, MPLS, traffic engineering, OpenFlow)
- Dedicated/Private communications networks both traditional voice and VOiP
- VOiP networks, soft switches, SBCs
- Fiber optic cable, characteristics, engineering, installation and maintenance
- RF related technologies such as cellular technologies, microwave, millimeter wave and VSAT
- Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network {GPON) technology
- Experience in commercial/industrial telecommunications networks, providing physical and logical network routes
- Computer and database skills
