POSITION SUMMARY:

Aniplex of America Inc. is seeking an Intern to join our team for hands-on experience supporting the Licensing division that manages the rights and distribution of anime related intellectual properties (IPs) across various platforms and products. The intern will rotate through key responsibilities and gain exposure to licensing operations, merchandising, and cross-functional collaboration with administrative and creative tasks including royalty calculations and sales tracking. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, proactive team player with a passion for anime and entertainment.

This role will require at least 2-3 days on site at the Santa Monica office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of department managers and leads, the intern will:

  • Prepare Excel spreadsheets for royalty payables, journal entries, and other data required to track licensing activities.
  • Create sales invoices and spreadsheets of IPs for solicitation to licensees
  • Support the shipping, organization, and handling of licensee product samples and inventory. This is a hands-on role that involves some physical work and a high level of organizational accuracy.
  • Help manage and maintain licensee data, contracts, and product assets.
  • Assist in the creation and submission of product approval forms, including Japanese-language documentation.
  • Contribute to marketing and licensing events, including script writing and presentation preparation.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for web-based systems.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Enrolled in a college program (preferably in Business, Communications, or a related field).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interface with varied levels of management, peers, and partners across various teams.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and presentations.
  • Passionate about anime, digital media, and social platforms.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and confident.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Japanese-English bilingual skills are a plus.
  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.

The target hourly rate for this internship is $19.00 per hour. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime .
